Our Story

Stacy “River” Arnold is the Founder, Facilitator, and Watershed Planner of Stormwater Solutions LLC, and she has devoted over 20 years to gain knowledge and experience in the watershed management field. As a lifelong resident of Missouri, she grew up in the rural southwest area of the state observing and learning from water in the form of an Ozark stream and gained a deep appreciation for the natural world with landscapes, livelihoods, and water in mind. She is now a human bridge as she has spent her adult life in the St. Louis urban area, and she can easily talk to and connect with various audiences to better navigate different scenes. Her coursework completed through the forestry program at University of Montana (U of M) in northwestern Montana with a 21,432 acre living classroom, the Lubrecht Experimental Forest, and the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex, an area of more than 1.5 million acres, has helped her gain an additional perspective that is not taught in other areas in the U.S. to add to her wealth of knowledge in this field and extreme respect for and understanding of the natural world.

A Testament from Stacy’s Next Generation

I feel compelled to push the importance of protecting the sanctity of our natural world. Throughout my life, even in infancy, I have shadowed my mother as she has organized and participated in Stream Team activities at every level from water quality monitoring to stream clean-ups across the state of Missouri. This upbringing has ingrained certain values that have inspired me to pursue my own career dedicated to environmental justice and preserving the balance between Earth and its residence. - 2023

Testimonials from the Organizations and Communities Stacy has Worked with Over Her Many Years in the Water World

In my opinion, Stacy can walk on water. I had the privilege of working with Stacy Arnold as an AmeriCorps Stream Team Assistant in 2007. She was always conscientious, dependable, an independent thinker and problem solver. Since her two years working professionally with Stream Team volunteers through the AmeriCorps Program, she has grown even more. She volunteers at and helps coordinate the annual Meramec Watershed Celebration event at Meramec State Park every year which is where we first met many years ago. She also volunteers and helps organize the Operation Clean Stream (OCS) event at Arnold City Park every year in addition to taking part in the day two OCS herculean effort to round up hundreds of tires on the Big River.

Both her AmeriCorps work and volunteer efforts with the Stream Team have provided Stacy with the opportunity to get down in the creeks to gain first-hand knowledge of their conditions and needs. I have always considered her work to be of a higher caliber and feel she will not only fulfill the duties of the position but raise them to a greater level of accomplishment. - 2016

She has dedicated her life to being a voice for the earth, and I am honored to know her. She is a truly remarkable woman making real change in the community. - 2024

Stacy Arnold is not only one of the most qualified individuals in this field, but is truly a person of integrity, honesty, and a compassionate warrior for what she believes in and stands for in a world that is quickly seeing these particular traits disappear in an alarming way.

You would be hard pressed to find another human being who would give their all, whether it be in business or in friendship. - 2024
